Welcome to the new Trumansburg Fire Department Website. This site has been established and developed totally in honor of the many dedicated men and women of the community which make up the membership of the Trumansburg Volunteer Fire Company Incorporated and are the Firefighting/EMS force of the Trumansburg Fire Department.
The Incorporated Village of Trumansburg supplies both Fire and EMS Services to an area covering over 56 square miles centered between Cayuga and Seneca Lakes better known as the Finger Lakes Region of Central New York. The Fire/EMS Protection Area is comprised of the Town of Ulysses, which includes the Village of Trumansburg and portions of both the Towns of Covert and Hector. This area is made up of residential, commercial, farming, over 14 miles of pristine year round and seasonal lake front homes and also Taughannock Falls State Park visited by an estimated 1,000,000 visitors each year.

Our services are both volunteer and career personnel. The fire side is a total volunteer force operating 24 x 7. Our EMS Service is divided equally between a career service which provides 12 hour coverage 7 days a week from 6 am to 6 pm and the volunteer coverage taking over at 6 pm and covering until 6 am the following morning.
The department answers on the average approximately 800 calls per year. The Fire Service accounts for roughly 200 fire related incidents. The remainder, approximately 600, EMS calls are dedicated to "emergency transports to the hospital".
